The General Electric WR01X25007 Refrigerator Duct Door Spring controls the opening of the duct door to regulate the airflow in the appliance and fresh food portions. It fits into the duct door shaft in the refrigerator cabinet and leads to special tabs on the damper assembly and liner. Its length, coil pressure and mounting points make it have balanced motion and correct alignment with the door mechanism. In normal cooling modes, it assists in the adjustment of air flow, keeping temperature levels constant, and the system functioning correctly throughout the appliance.
