The General Electric WD16X30872 Dishwasher Right Hand & Left Hand Lid Actuators are used to turn on and off the lid or door latch system in an appliance system. It is used to open and close latch elements to ensure that the appliance detects a properly closed door prior to operation. They operate by means of small internal linkages that activate the latch and the door switch, which is used to signal the control system to initiate or terminate cycles. The components are fitted in the dishwasher door assembly close to the latch housing of the appliance.
