The General Electric FXHSC Household Water Filter Cartridge is used to reduce sand rust, and other suspended particles from incoming water before it reaches household plumbing. It fits into a housing, where water flows through a pleated filter media that traps debris while allowing treated water to pass onward to fixtures and appliances. The structure is rated to handle residential flow conditions while maintaining consistent filtration. Installed inside the main cleaning canister, it protects pipes, fixtures and connected appliances by limiting particles and enhancing overall water clarity during household use.
Step 1: Begin by shutting off your water supply. The main shut-off valve should be identified and rotated clockwise to close.
Step 2: The filter housing should be detached from the wall or cabinet. A wrench for plastic housings or a socket for metal housings should be utilized to accomplish this.
Step 3: The old filter should be removed and disposed of.
Step 4: The new filter should be taken and placed into the housing as the old filter was. The arrow on the filter’s housing should be ensured directed towards the water supply.
Step 5: After the filter is firmly positioned, the housing’s connection to the water supply should be secured.
Step 6: The main water supply should be reactivated and inspected for any leaks. It should be verified that all connection points are tight and that no water is escaping.
Step 7: Your new water filter should be activated by running the water for a minimum of five minutes to eliminate any debris or air trapped within the filter.
Step 8: Your clean, filtered water should be savored!
