The Electrolux 5304524953 Refrigerator Defrost Heater ensures that frost and ice accumulating on the evaporator coils inside an appliance are melted. It is used to create controlled heat on the coil surface as it goes through the automatic defrost cycle to ensure any buildup of ice on the coil is limited, as this can decrease the cooling efficiency. To the defrost control system and power system, the heater is located close to the evaporator in the compartment. During operation, it is connected to the thermostat and control board to turn on heating, aid in maintaining constant airflow and assist in maintaining constant temperatures in the refrigerator.
