The Electrolux 0L0492 Dishwasher Pump Impeller is applied to pass both the wash and rinse water through the appliance. It transforms rotational movement of the pump motor to fluid flow that forms the pressure required to drive water to spray arms and to dishes during the wash cycle. The motor shaft turns the impeller in the pump housing of the appliance. Its operation is to pull water into the pump and push it outwards into the spray system so that it can perform the cleaning effectively, as it ensures that all parts of the dishwasher interior are protected with water and detergent.
