I apologise, there appears to be a misunderstanding. The Whirlpool EDR6D1 Refrigerator Filter is really available in white, not dark blue. It's a changeable water filter designed to fit Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana, and Jenn Air refrigerators with a quarter-turn filter system, which is normally placed near the bottom grille. Once installed, the EDR6D1 filters your refrigerator's water supply to eliminate contaminants such as chlorine, lead, mercury, and some pesticides and herbicides. This filtration procedure not only improves the flavour and odour of your drinking water and ice, but it also protects your refrigerator's ice maker and dispenser from mineral buildup, which can interfere with performance.

Installation Steps

Step 1: To start, the filter should be removed from its packaging and allowed to rest for up to 15 minutes to enable the filter media to fully saturate.

Step 2: The filter compartment should be located inside the refrigerator, which is typically situated on the left side of the refrigerator door.

Step 3: The locking cap should be detached from the filter compartment by unscrewing it.

Step 4: The old filter should be removed from the compartment and disposed of properly.

Step 5: The new filter should be positioned so that the arrows face the rear of the refrigerator. The filter should be pushed into the compartment until it is secured and stops rotating.

Step 6: The locking cap should be rotated clockwise until it firmly locks into position.

Step 7: Lastly, the filter change indicator on the refrigerator should be reset to ensure accurate tracking of filter usage.
