The Avanti Products E20F01-031600 Cooktop Coil Switch regulates power levels supplied to a coil surface burner in an appliance system. It operates through a rotary switching mechanism that adjusts electrical contact positions in response to knob rotation, controlling heat output during cooking operation. The switch is installed behind the front control panel and connected to the burner circuit through designated terminal points within the appliance wiring layout. It interfaces with the surface element to manage power flow and heating intensity. It supports controlled temperature variation and consistent burner operation during cooking cycles.
Step 1: The power cord should be disconnected from the electrical outlet.
Step 2: The coil switch should be identified and the fasteners holding it in position should be unscrewed.
Step 3: The current switch should be gently extracted from the cooktop. Needle-nose pliers might need to be used to detach the two wires. It should be noted which wire connects to which terminal.
Step 4: The new switch should be placed. First, the two wires should be connected to the terminals, ensuring they are attached in the same manner as with the previous switch. The switch should be fastened securely with the screws.
Step 5: The power cord should be reconnected to the outlet and the cooktop should be verified to function correctly with the new switch.
