The Samsung DE72-40022A Microwave Main Damper is an airflow control component that manages the amount of moisture passing in and out of the appliance cavity and the external venting system. It is used in the opening and closing of the airflow pathway to direct the steam and smoke to the exhaust where necessary and to stop backflow when it is not in use. The damper is mounted on a flap system that is operated by the ventilation commands of the control system. It is installed in the ventilation assembly of the microwave either during manufacture or service.
