The Samsung DA34-00066C Refrigerator Interlock Door Switch regulates the interior light and cooling operation of the refrigerator door. It comes on when the door opens and switches on the light while at the same time stopping the cooling process. When the door is shut, it goes back to normal cooling, and the light is switched off. This switch used conserve power because it avoids wastage of energy in unnecessary operations.

Installation Steps

Step 1: The refrigerator is disconnected from the wall outlet.

Step 2: The refrigerator door is opened and all objects obstructing the interlock door switch are taken out.

Step 3: The two screws located on the underside of the refrigerator door panel that secure the interlock door switch are identified. These are removed with a flathead screwdriver.

Step 4: The interlock door switch is extracted from its position using a power drill.

Step 5: The 3 electrical wires linked to the current interlock door switch are detached by disengaging the retaining clips with a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 6: The 3 electrical wires are attached to the new interlock door switch.

Step 7: The new interlock door switch is gently inserted into its position and fastened with the screws.

Step 8: The refrigerator is reconnected to the wall outlet and the functionality of the new interlock door switch is verified.
