It is used to monitor the temperature of the surrounding air or the compartment and transmit the information to the electronic controller of the refrigerator to allow proper temperature control. The sensor works based on a thermistor concept and its resistance varies with a change in temperature. It is installed in the refrigerator compartment or sensor port and is connected to the main wiring harness.
