Product Description

The Speed Queen D513738 Base Moisture Sensor is used to detect the moisture content in the drum to avoid over-drying in the dryer. This sensor works through the process of measuring the humidity level inside the drum. Transmitting the signals to the control board to regulate the drying process. The moisture level and the sensor decrease the heat and halt the cycle when the clothes are dry. This function improves the washing quality, minimizes shrinkage, and increases garments longevity.

Installation Steps

Step 1: The dryer should be disconnected from the electrical outlet.

Step 2: The back panel of the dryer should be taken off. The screws securing the back panel should be gently unscrewed using a Phillips head screwdriver.

Step 3: The moisture sensor base located near the center of the dryer should be identified.

Step 4: The electrical connections linking the moisture sensor base to the internal wiring harness should be detached. A flat-head screwdriver should be utilized to carefully separate the connections.

Step 5: The screws securing the moisture sensor base should be removed. Pliers or an adjustable wrench might need to be employed to loosen these screws.

Step 6: The moisture sensor base should be unscrewed and gently extracted.

Step 7: The new moisture sensor base should be attached by first securing it with screws, then reconnecting the electrical connections. It should ensure that all screws are tightened firmly before advancing to the next step.

Step 8: The back panel should be reattached and fastened securely with screws.

Step 9: The power cord should be reconnected and the dryer should be plugged back into the electrical outlet.
