The Carrier HH12ZB200 Gas Furnace Hi Limit Switch is used to protect the heating system when the internal temperature exceeds safe operating temperature, and the burner is not operated. It works by a temperature-sensitive mechanism that closes the electrical circuit when a set limit is surpassed to avoid overheating. It is attached to the heat exchanger of the furnace or on a panel adjacent to it and, is used to continuously keep track of the thermal conditions. Its operation assists in the reliable furnace operation by aiding in controlling the temperature.

Installation Steps
Step1: Turn off electrical power at breaker and confirm system is de-energized.
Step2: Remove access panel to locate existing hi-limit switch on heat exchanger or blower housing.
Step3: Disconnect wiring from old switch, noting terminal positions.
Step4: Install new switch in same orientation and secure firmly.
Step5: Reconnect wires, replace panel, restore power, and test system for proper operation.
