The Breville SP0016394 Kettle Base & Cord Assembly E Version supplies electrical power to the heating system and provides the contact structure required for water heating. It is installed beneath the kettle body and connects with the power cord, electrical contacts and internal supply terminals. The electricity circulates from the wall outlet through the cord and base contacts to the kettle when the body is positioned on the base. It maintains the power path throughout the heating cycle, while the detachable base configuration allows the kettle body to be lifted and carried separately after the water reaches the selected condition.
