The Goodman Distribution Inc. B1401018S Hot Surface Ignitor is used in furnaces to ignite gas through electrical heating to a high temperature as it is part of an ignition sequence. This element is heated by an electric current and the gas-air mixture in the burner is ignited. The ignitor is fixed near the burner assembly in the furnace so as to be in direct and dependable contact with ignition in each heating cycle.
