Installation Steps

Step 1: The refrigerator should be disconnected from the electrical outlet and any food items or barriers should be cleared from the freezer door.

Step 2: The water supply to the refrigerator should be shut off. To keep the door ajar during the repair, a wooden shim should be inserted between the door and the frame.

Step 3: The plastic hinge cover should be gently removed using a flathead screwdriver.

Step 4: The screws that fasten the hinge to the upper part of the door should be taken out and the hinge should be detached.

Step 5: The two screws that secure the lower section of the hinge should be extracted and it should be pulled away from the refrigerator.

Step 6: The new hinge should be positioned in the identical spot and fastened with the screws.

Step 7: The new hinge should be affixed to the door utilizing the screws taken out in step 4.

Step 8: The plastic hinge cover should be reinstalled and the refrigerator should be reconnected to the power supply.

Step 9: The water supply should be reactivated and the refrigerator should be checked to verify it operates correctly.
