The Mars 79327 Stainless Steel Hose Clamp 36 7/8" to 2-3/4" is used to tighten and secure a hose tube onto a fitting by applying clamping pressure around the hose circumference. This component consists of a stainless steel band and a worm-drive screw mechanism that adjusts the diameter when turned. Installed around the outside of a hose, it is positioned over the connection-point where the hose meets a pipe, nipple or fitting. When the screw is tightened, the band reduces in diameter and compresses the hose evenly against the fitting surface to create a firm mechanical hold.
