The Robertshaw Controls/uniline 5500-134M Infinite Switch W/Chrome Dial 120V regulates electrical power supplied to an electric heating element by varying the amount of current supplied according to the selected mode. Its internal switching mechanism cycles the electrical circuit on and off at controlled intervals as the dial is rotated, adjusting the average heat output. It is mounted behind the range or cooktop control panel and connects through electrical terminals to the incoming power circuit and heating element. Its adjustable switching action provides variable heat control, allowing the connected element to maintain the selected temperature level during normal cooking operation.
