The Frigidaire 5304508629 Refrigerator Compressor Start Relay is used as a replacement to ensure the motor begins, and operates. It is primarily used to provide the starting electric impulse that the compressor requires to start. A start relay is used to momentarily supply current to the start winding of the compressor and disconnects when the compressor is started. It is fitted at the electrical terminals of the compressor in the back of the refrigerator. A properly installed start relay can be useful in ensuring reliable compressor start-ups, less strain on the motor, and effective cooling.
