The Frigidaire 5304520660 Dishwasher Sump Assembly water passes through the tub pump and a filter system to control the circulation pressure. It is attached to the lower part of the dishwasher tub and is linked to the circulation pump, drain pump and filter housing using closed inlet and outlet ports. The housing controls the water flow, in addition to aiding the filtration of the debris and alignment of the pump intake. It controls the transfer and recirculation of hydraulic fluid on wash and rinse cycles, keeping water always in motion and maintaining system pressure during normal cleaning cycles.
