The Frigidaire 5303918208 Refrigerator Defrost Heater Kit produces controlled heat in the area of the evaporator coil to allow no frost to accumulate and ensure proper cooling effect. The heater component will increase the temperature in the area around the coils when active, so that ice that is built up will melt and run off through the specified drainage channel when the defrosting takes place. It is placed in the appliance compartment and mounted in line with the supports and wiring connections to the evaporator. This kit is an extension of the defrost control system and thermostat to make sure that the heat is applied orderly.
