The Frigidaire 5303918203 Refrigerator Defrost Heater Kit is used to prevent the formation of frost on the evaporator coils in order to ensure that the freezer is able to cool. It works by warming the coils in the defrost mode where ice that has built up melts and drips out. This element is placed either around or under the evaporator area within the freezer compartment, which maintains the freezer airflow and temperature control, and continues freezer operation without frost interference.
