The Robertshaw Controls/uniline 41-401 Hot Surface Furnace Ignitor is applied in residential furnaces to start the heating process by creating a high temperature surface to ignite the gas. It acts as a substitute part that will ignite the furnace burners reliably when the system requires heat. The ignitor is used to heat a designed ceramic element to the required temperature to ignite the gas by passing electrical current through it.
