Installation Steps
Step 1: Power to the washer is disconnected. Either the washer is unplugged from the wall outlet or the circuit breaker that services the washer is flipped.
Step 2: The old shock absorber assembly is identified. At the rear of the washer, the four screws that hold the outer panel in place are taken out. Afterward, the outer panel is detached and the shock absorber assembly located on the upper left side is found.
Step 3: The old shock absorber assembly is extracted. The three wires linking the shock absorber assembly to the washer are disconnected first. Then, the nut and bolt situated at the top of the shock absorber are taken off using pliers.
Step 4: The new shock absorber assembly is positioned. Initially, the three wires are connected to the washer, then the new shock absorber belt is attached to the motor pulley. The bolt is fastened with the nut and tightened using the pliers.
Step 5: The washer is reassembled. The outer panel of the washer is reattached and secured with the four screws.
Step 6: Power to the washer is reconnected and the new shock absorber is verified. The washer is plugged back into the wall outlet or the circuit breaker is reset. A standard cycle on the washer is commenced to ensure the new shock absorber functions correctly.
