Installation Steps
Step 2: The panel situated at the rear of the dryer is accessed. Depending on your specific model, this may be either a detachable panel or one that is fixed in place with screws.
Step 3: The path of the belt is observed as it travels around the various pulleys. If feasible, a photograph is captured for reference when the new belt is installed.
Step 4: The drum is separated from the motor by unfastening the belt from the pulleys. In most dryer designs, a small idler pulley can be released using a socket wrench.
Step 5: After the drum is disconnected from the motor, the old belt is completely removed and disposed of.
Step 6: The new belt is positioned onto the drum and guided around the pulleys. The picture is referred to if needed.
Step 7: Subsequently, the drum is reconnected to the motor by carefully threading the belt around the pulleys. It is verified that the tension is appropriate to allow the belt to move smoothly.
Step 8: The access panel is fastened back in place and the dryer’s power cord is reconnected.
Step 9: A test cycle is run on the dryer to confirm the belt has been installed correctly.
By following these instructions, the dryer drum belt can be swiftly and safely replaced.
