The Frigidaire 241707703 Refrigerator Starter triggers the compressor to switch on by temporarily increasing the electrical current to enable the motor to start rotating. It works by closing the start winding and then opening it as soon as the motor is at running speed. It is placed close to the compressor housing and is connected to the electrical terminal block and connected to the cooling circuit. Such an arrangement allows predictable compressor startups, constant cycling and dependable refrigeration.
