Installation Steps

Step 1: Disconnect the Fridge from Power.

The fridge should be disconnected from its electrical outlet to ensure a safe working environment on the appliance.

Step 2: Turn Off the Water Supply.

The water supply should be turned off to avert any potential leaks while the water fill valve of the Frigidaire is replaced. If a shut-off valve is equipped with your Frigidaire, it should be utilized to halt the water flow. Otherwise, the main water shut-off should be located and deactivated at the source.

Step 3: Detach the Water Line.

Next, the water line connected to the 154637401 Frigidaire water fill valve must be detached. To achieve this, the clamp that holds the water line in place should be identified first. Multiple clamps may require loosening. The clamp should be unscrewed, then the water line should be gently pulled away from the water fill valve.

Step 4: Extract the Old Fill Valve.

After the water line is disconnected, the old water fill valve can be extracted. The mounting screws located beneath the appliance should be taken out first.

Once the screws are taken out, the valve assembly should be carefully elevated upwards and out of the fridge. The old water fill valve can now be safely extracted.

Step 5: Position the New Fill Valve.

With the old valve removed, the new 154637401 Frigidaire water fill valve is set to be positioned. The new water fill valve should be attached to the existing water line of the fridge and secured with a clamp.

Then, the new valve should be inserted into the fridge's opening, ensuring the mounting holes are aligned. The valve should be fastened in place using the previously removed mounting screws.

Step 6: Reestablish Power and Water.

The final step involves reestablishing power and water to the fridge.

First, it should be confirmed that the water supply is activated again at the source or at the shut-off valve near the fridge.

Finally, the fridge should be reconnected to the electrical outlet.

A new, operational 154637401 water fill valve is now fitted to your Frigidaire and is ready for use.
