Installation Steps

Step 1: The required tools and materials will be assembled. To change out the Frigidaire 154252701 P-1 trap, drain hose, a drain hose, two hose clamps, a pair of pliers, and a flat head screwdriver will be required.

Step 2: The existing trap will be detached. With your pliers, the cap nut positioned on the side of your Frigidaire’s drain hose will be unscrewed. This action will free the old trap.

Step 3: The old trap will be extracted. The old trap will be gently pulled off the end of the hose and set aside.

Step 4: The new trap will be positioned. Your new trap will be taken and carefully slid onto the end of the drain hose. It is to be ensured that it is securely fitted before proceeding.

Step 5: The new trap will be fastened. The two hose clamps and flathead screwdriver will be employed to firmly secure the new trap. The hose clamps will be tightened until the trap is stable.

Step 6: Leaks will be checked for. After the trap is secured, the water will be turned on and inspected for any leaks. If leaks are detected, the hose clamps will be tightened a little more until the leaking ceases.
