Installation Steps

Step 1: The power supply to your Whirlpool washer must be disabled. The washer must be disconnected from the outlet or the circuit breaker in the fuse panel must be turned off.

Step 2: Prior to taking apart the pulley and thrust bearing, the top panel of the washer must be detached by removing its screws.

Step 3: After the top panel is taken off, the pulley and thrust bearing kit must be found. Using an adjustable wrench, the pulley bolt must be loosened until it is fully removed from the washer.

Step 4: The old pulley and thrust bearing kit must be extracted and the new part must be readied for installation.

Step 5: The new pulley and thrust bearing kit must be inserted into the washing machine, aligned with the washer shaft and fastened with the pulley bolt. The bolt must be tightened using the wrench, ensuring it is securely fastened.

Step 6: The top panel must be reattached by carefully screwing it back into place.

Step 7: The power supply to the washer must be restored, either by plugging it back into the outlet or turning on the circuit breaker in the fuse panel.

Step 8: The washer must be verified to confirm that the pulley and thrust bearing kit has been installed correctly.
