The Rinnai 104000255 Water Heater Condensate Tap Kit collects condensate generated during combustion outside the internal venting system of the water heater to avoid moisture backflow and ensure that the water heater drains properly. It is attached at the condensate discharge point of the heater to the trap assembly, hooking to the vent pipe and drain connection, locking to the bottom and support bracket of the unit. The sealed design of the trap keeps the water-filled barrier to separate the vent airflow from external drainage. It assists in assisting continued combustion and continuous operation in the normal heating operations by clearing fluid and avoiding interference with the air path.
