Installation Steps

Step 1: The power supply to your appliance should be cut off by either unplugging it or switching off the breaker that provides electricity to the appliance.

Step 2: The screws that hold the top panel of the appliance in place should be taken out. The top panel should be raised away from the appliance and set aside.

Step 3: The GE WE4M415 door switch, which is generally positioned near the upper section of the door frame, should be identified.

Step 4: The two wires linked to the door switch should be detached by gripping each wire and pulling it away from the terminal.

Step 5: A Phillips screwdriver should be employed to extract the screws fastening the switch to the appliance frame.

Step 6: The replacement GE WE4M415 door switch should be taken and the two wires should be connected to the terminals on the new switch. It should ensure that the connections are secure.

Step 7: The new switch should be fastened to the appliance frame using the screws from the previous switch.

Step 8: The top panel of the appliance should be reattached and secured with the screws.

Step 9: The power to the appliance should be re-established.

Step 10: The functionality of the new switch should be verified by closing and opening the door of the appliance.
