Product Description

The Whirlpool WPW10195039 Dishwasher Float Switch prevents overflows by detecting water levels and stopping the fill cycle when necessary. It operates by rising with the water level, triggering a switch to halt further filling. When water drains, the float lowers, resetting the switch for the next cycle. This mechanism ensures proper water regulation, preventing leaks and potential damage. Reliable performance helps maintain dishwasher efficiency while reducing water waste and minimizing maintenance needs.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Power to the appliance should be disconnected. To eliminate the possibility of electric shock, the appliance should be detached from the outlet or the breaker in your home’s electrical circuit box should be deactivated.

Step 2: The screws securing the control panel should be taken out. The Phillips screwdriver should be utilized to extract the screws. If needed, the control panel should be tilted slightly to reach some screws.

Step 3: The wires from the current switch should be detached. The wires should be gently pulled away from the switch terminals without twisting them. Labeling the wires might be beneficial for proper reattachment later.

Step 4: The new switch should be placed. The new switch should be positioned within the control panel and the screws that hold it in position should be reinserted. It should ensure that the switch is firmly secured.

Step 5: The wires should be reattached. The labeled wires should be aligned with their original positions on the switch terminals. The wires should be inserted onto the terminals and the terminal screws should be tightened to secure them.

Step 6: The control panel should be reinstalled and power to the appliance should be restored. The Phillips screwdriver should be used to fasten the control panel back in place. After the panel is secured, the appliance should be plugged back in or the breaker should be switched on again.

The Whirlpool WPW10195039 switch has now been successfully replaced.
