Installation Steps

Step 1: Prior to starting any repair work, it should ensure that the appliance is unplugged or power is deactivated at the circuit breaker to avoid electric shock or injury.

Step 2: With your screwdriver, the screws securing the control panel cover should be removed. After the screws are taken out, the cover should be carefully lifted to expose the control panel. The harness should be disconnected from the old control panel.

Step 3: Your replacement timer should be grabbed and inserted into the back of the control panel. The timer should be fastened using the screws that were taken out in Step 2.

Step 4: It should be confirmed that the appliance is powered off, then a voltage tester should be utilized to check that the timer is functioning correctly. If a positive reading is indicated by the voltage tester, the timer has been installed successfully.

Step 5: After testing the timer, the control panel cover should be reattached and the screws secured.

You’re finished! A new WPW10185981 timer has been installed in your Whirlpool appliance and it is ready for use once more.
