Whirlpool WP7731P182-60 Range Knob Thermostat
Description
The Whirlpool WP7731P182-60 is an equivalent thermostat knob intended for Whirlpool ranges. It's a basic but important component that lets you manage the temperature of your oven. The knob is hooked to a shaft that leads to the oven's thermostat. Turning the knob adjusts the position of a metal strip inside the thermostat. This strip extends and contracts with temperature variations. When the temperature within the oven reaches the specified level, the metal strip triggers the thermostat, which turns off the heating element. As the oven cools, the strip contracts, causing the thermostat to switch the element back on. This cycle guarantees that your oven's temperature remains steady while baking, roasting, and other cooking chores.
