Product Description

The Whirlpool WP53-0771 Dryer High Limit Thermostat measures the temperature of the air inside the drum and will cut the power flowing to the heating component if it reaches unsafe temperatures. It is fitted in the airflow or heater housing of the dryer and the thermostat is set to open its contact at a predetermined temperature and close when the conditions return to normal. It stabilizes thermal conditions by controlling the amount of heat provided to the system and avoiding excessive heating, which assists in keeping the performance at a constant level during the regular drying process.
