Installation Steps

Step 1: Your Whirlpool Washer is disconnected from the electrical outlet. It is confirmed that the power supply to the washer is completely turned off for safety purposes.

Step 2: The screws situated on the upper section of the washer lid are taken out and it is gently elevated. The lid is set aside and the agitator is identified. The agitator is positioned at the bottom of the wash tub.

Step 3: The cap cover on the agitator is located. This is a plastic piece situated on top of the agitator that must be taken off. The cap is removed and the damaged thrust washer found underneath is disposed of.

Step 4: The new WP3951608 washer agitator thrust washer is inserted into the same location as the former one. It is verified that the new thrust washer is firmly placed within the agitator.

Step 5: The cap cover is reinstalled onto the agitator and it is ensured that it is securely fastened.

Step 6: The lid of your washer is reattached onto the unit and all screws are tightened properly. The washer is reconnected to the wall electrical outlet.

Step 7: The operation of your newly installed washer thrust washer is verified by running a laundry load through it, to confirm that the part has been properly fitted.
