Step 1: All required tools and materials for a safe project execution, including a Phillips screwdriver, a putty knife, an adjustable wrench, and a new WE19M1494 GE backsplash assembly, should be collected.
Step 2: The power supply to the current appliance should be disconnected before starting any work.
Step 3: The putty knife should be employed to gently detach the existing backsplash assembly from the wall.
Step 4: The Phillips screwdriver should be utilized to remove the screws securing the old backsplash.
Step 5: After the old assembly is taken out, the new assembly should be aligned against the wall, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
Step 6: The new assembly should be fastened to the wall with the same screws that secured the previous assembly. The screws should be hand-tightened to prevent any damage to the wall or the assembly.
Step 7: The appliance's power supply should be reconnected.
