Installation Steps

Step 1: Disconnect the Washing Machine from Power. Prior to servicing any appliance, it should ensure that it is unplugged from the electrical outlet.

Step 2: Take Off the Control Panel Cover. The screws fastening the control panel cover to the washing machine should be unscrewed using the Phillips-head screwdriver. The control panel cover should be gently removed.

Step 3: Detach the Wiring Harness. The wiring harness situated on the rear of the control panel should be located and carefully pulled from its socket to disconnect it.

Step 4: Extract the Control Board. The screws that secure the control board should be unscrewed using the Phillips-head screwdriver. The control board should be gently lifted off and placed aside.

Step 5: Insert the New Control Kit. The new GE WD21X26186 machine control kit should be taken and installed in the same manner as the previous one was removed. It should ensure that the wiring harness is firmly connected to the port at the back of the control panel.

Step 6: Reinstall the Control Panel Cover. The control panel cover should be positioned back onto the washing machine and fastened with the screws.

Step 7: Check the Machine. The washing machine should be plugged back in and powered on. It should be verified that the machine operates correctly to confirm that the control kit is functioning as intended.
