Product Description

The General Electric WR57X10051 Refrigerator Water Valve Kit regulates the flow of water by using controlled openings that permit a measured flow through internal channels. Mounted near the incoming water line, it receives electrical input directing when water should pass for functions requiring controlled delivery. The structure of the valve allows connections to be sealed to reduce leakage and ensure that flow is constant. It can go through constant cycling, and its internal elements ensure continuous regulation, which ensures proper performance.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Water flow to the appliance should be ceased. Prior to commencing any repairs, it should ensure that the power is disconnected to prevent electric shock and water damage. The shut-off valve should be identified and rotated clockwise to halt the water supply to the refrigerator.

Step 2: The appliance should be disconnected from the power source. For safety, it is crucial that the refrigerator is unplugged prior to carrying out any repairs.

Step 3: The back panel should be taken off. With a screwdriver, the screws securing the back panel of the refrigerator should be taken out and the panel should be carefully pulled away from the wall.

Step 4: The water valve should be extracted. The water valve is connected to the water line via a hose clamp. A pair of needle nose pliers or a screwdriver should be utilized to loosen the clamp and detach the hose.

Step 5: The wiring harness should be detached. To separate the wiring harness, the clips securing the wires in position should be gently pried apart.

Step 6: The new water valve should be fitted. A wrench should be employed to secure the mounting bracket and the water line should be attached to the new valve using a hose clamp. The wiring harness should be reconnected to the new valve. It should ensure that all connections are firm.

Step 7: The new water valve should be verified. The water supply should be reopened and the new water valve should be checked to confirm it is operational.

Step 8: The back panel should be reattached. The back panel should be carefully repositioned and a screwdriver should be used to fasten the screws.

Step 9: The area should be tidied up. Any debris created during the installation should be cleared away and it should ensure that all tools are stored properly.

Congratulations! The WR57X10051 GE Water Valve Kit has been successfully replaced.
