The Samsung DA97-07661C Flipper Assembly used to improve the performance of a refrigerator by making it easier to open and close the doors. It is used in the door of the refrigerator to enable the door to open and close properly and also to remain locked once closed. This part also saves on damage of the door hinges hence increasing the durability of the refrigerator. This ensures that the door is properly aligned and does not allow cold air to seep in making energy consumption effective. It also helps to avoid possible harm to the refrigerator’s inner parts, enhancing its efficiency.
Step 1: Disconnect Power. Prior to initiating any repairs, it must be ensured that the power supply to your refrigerator is disconnected. If an ice maker is present in your unit, the water supply must also be turned off.
Step 2: Remove Drawers and Shelves. All shelves and drawers must be taken out from the refrigerator door. They must be kept stored securely.
Step 3: Remove The Lower Door. The lower door must be positioned in the open position and the clip securing it must be disengaged. A flathead screwdriver may be necessary to assist in the removal of the clip. The door must be lifted upwards and away from the rail assembly, then the flipper mullion must be detached.
Step 4: Install New Rail Assembly. The new rail assembly must be inserted into the refrigerator door and the flipper mullion must be reattached back into the rail. The lower door must be repositioned onto the clips and snapped back into the correct position.
Step 5: Replace the Shelves and Drawers. The shelves and drawers that had been previously removed must be reinserted.
Step 6: Restore Power and Water. The power to the refrigerator must be reconnected, and if applicable, the water line for the ice maker must be reattached.
