The Rinnai 104000240 Flame Rod Electrode Kit W/Gasket detects the existence of a flame in the burner to provide safe and efficient operation. It is mounted close to the burner assembly and is attached directly to the ignition system and control board. The flame rod detects the flame signal and transmits it to the control unit to keep or turn off the gas flow as necessary. It is placed in the furnace space to provide effective ignition control, improve the safety of operations.
